Exploring tidal shifts at Bay of Fundy
Michael Charland Recreation & LeisureMy wife and I just concluded a seven-month trip of exploring the East Coast of the United States and the eastern provinces of Canada. One of our stops on this trip was the Bay of Fundy. Due to its northern location and other factors, the Bay of Fundy is known for some of the greatest tidal shifts. We had read about these shifts and the tidal bores, so we thought we would check them out.

Is the new Macan worthy of the Porsche badge?
David Hurth Recreation & LeisureA few weeks ago, Porsche unveiled the much anticipated Porsche Macan. The new compact SUV is the German performance carmaker's first attempt to enter that segment of the market. This new segment has the potential of being quite profitable for Porsche. With the chance of a good financial gain, it is no wonder the automotive manufacturer would like to enter the market, but is the Macan worthy of wearing the Porsche crest?

The benefits of big game scoring
John McAdams Recreation & LeisureI recently passed the test and became a Safari Club International official measurer. I mention this not because I’m trying to make money scoring trophies (I only charge to reimburse my expenses), but because I’m convinced of the profound positive effect that scoring systems like those developed by Safari Club International, Boone and Crockett, and Pope and Young have on wildlife populations and on the sport of hunting.

The little things make campground stays memorable
Laura Weaver Recreation & LeisureWe have been traveling in our motor home since 2006. Although we have not been RVing for all that long, comparatively speaking, we have camped in 49 states and several Canadian provinces, and we have accumulated over 60,000 miles on our odometer. Because we are retired, we have had the opportunity to visit several states more than once, often staying in the same campground we had previously stayed. Most campgrounds offer the same things, but particular campgrounds stood out in our minds for some reason. We wanted to stay in these campgrounds again; even driving "out of our way" to do so.

5 reasons to buy a vintage Porsche
Noelle Talmon Recreation & LeisureVintage vehicles evoke a bygone era. When you hop into an older car, the smell, the old-fashioned gauges and the overall look transport you back to a simpler time. Classic cars also give you sense of freedom. There are plenty of advantages to owning a vintage Porsche.

Show me the money: Finding funds for your disc golf league
Adam Moser Recreation & LeisureAccumulating profit for your local disc golf league or club can be a slow and painful process. In most clubs there is a small family of golfers that comes every week and only a few new players that sporadically come to league, thus limiting the monetary growth. This sad-but-true fact is why you need to look at your local club as a business and not as a nonprofit organization.

Employment opportunities for the motorhome lifestyle
Laura Weaver Recreation & LeisureTraveling in our 36-foot motorhome has proven to be more enjoyable than we had ever anticipated. It has allowed us to visit 49 states comfortably. Through our travels, we have met many wonderful people at the campgrounds where we have stayed — retirees just like us, who are following our dreams and doing what we love to do.

What’s in my garage? A whole lot more
Mike Petrilla Recreation & LeisureA recent E-Brake inquiry from PCA asked what was in the garage or driveway. Respondents were invited to click on one of Porsche's enduring or more recent models. I made the appropriate click, 911 ('74-'89), and found myself among approximately 1,500 others. That is not where I am. When it comes to Porsche ownership, I am in a class of one. I would guess that the same goes for other Porsche owners.

The Flying Circus: It’s the little old lady from Circus
Garth WallaceCOPA eFlight presents another weekly excerpt from “The Flying Circus,” a fun book by Canadian aviation humorist and former COPA publisher Garth Wallace. "The Flying Circus" is a fictional account of the madcap escapades of two instructors who start their own flying school armed with loads of enthusiasm, but little business sense and no money.

Lessons learned: Be prepared with good equipment, services and insurance
Michael and Linda Ratcliff Recreation & LeisureOur journey of 23,000 miles started from Branson, Mo., where we had parked our RV for the past two years. Our goal had been to get jobs and pay off our 2008 Silverado Duramax 2500HD before starting our travels again. After the last payment was made, my wife was restless and insisted the reason we had wheels on our house was so that we could see the country. It didn't take us long to learn a few lessons the hard way. Hopefully, our experience can pay off in good advice for you.
