Mike Petrilla retired from civil service (VA) five years ago. Since then, he has taught liberal arts courses at a local community college. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, Mike hops into his "frog" and heads to the back roads of Chester County in Pennsylvania.

  These cars are ticking time bombs. Any motor vehicle is for that matter, but Porsches tend to detonate with greater impact. Never mind their numerous and amply devastating problem areas. Routine maintenance on my truck might run $250. The same routine work on the Porsche will likely cost twice that.

  ​A recent E-Brake inquiry from PCA asked what was in the garage or driveway. Respondents were invited to click on one of Porsche's enduring or more recent models. I made the appropriate click, 911 ('74-'89), and found myself among approximately 1,500 others. That is not where I am. When it comes to Porsche ownership, I am in a class of one. I would guess that the same goes for other Porsche owners.
