In order to help teams build some competency on the GT America, Porsche Motorsport attempted an exercise that has not been done since the 2000 season — inviting team members to an official training session, which immediately followed the Petit LeMans race in October. Any opportunity to visit the Porsche Training Center in Atlanta is one not to miss, so when Porsche Motorsport North America offered this opportunity, my name was on the list.

Tour bus trip to New Orleans: Part I

It would be a grand total of 1,346 miles across six states and taking just under one full day of travel time, including stops. I was driving down to New Orleans for three days for a major conference there. For this trip I needed a co-driver so we could make it in one go without having to stop overnight anywhere. This worked well with us taking four-hour shifts behind the wheel and four hours in the bunk that had been fitted just for the trip.

GIS relies on computerized hardware and software to add data to maps, while GPS is a location device that relies on satellites. GIS helps answer information about the world around you. The Geographic Information Systems Collaboratory at DePaul University and the Chicago Federation of Labor Workers Assistance Committee have created an example of using GIS to for data analysis purposes in the field of ESL.
