A rare MCO for a 968
Jeff Coe Recreation & LeisureLike most of you, I have a supporting collection of 968-related memorabilia in addition to my 968 cars. This includes model cars, posters, and many, many documents and brochures. But recently, I was shown a unique item that I had never seen before, an original MCO for a 968. What’s an MCO, you ask? That stands for Manufacturers' Certificate of Origin. The best analogy I can provide you for this document is it is like a birth certificate for your car.

When will self-driving cars become the norm?
Robert Gordon Science & TechnologyThe hardest part of vehicle safety is to ensure the person behind the wheel is at his or her best while driving. Human error continues to be a significant factor in traffic fatalities. Experienced drivers have been shown to be safer drivers who make fewer errors in judgment than younger drivers, but experience is not the only factor. Issues such as fatigue, emotional distress, distractions and more cause even the most experienced driver to have a lapse in judgment.

Who knew the Porsche Speedster would be such a hit?
Dave Story Transportation Technology & AutomotiveOf all the different models Porsche built during the 1950s, the Speedster had to be the most charismatic — and today, it's the most desirable. It's a car with personality and pizzazz. But who in 1954 would have thought this $3,000 sports car with a 1,600 cc air-cooled motor that had no real heater and swing axles would someday sell for more than $100,000. And that's for a good driver! The really excellent ones sell in excess of $200,000.

An open letter to Donald Trump from America’s railroad passengers
Charles A. Turek Transportation Technology & AutomotiveDear President-elect Trump, congratulations on your win. I know you are pretty much your own man, and that you take advice reluctantly and with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, I would like to take this opportunity to give you some about rail transportation, and particularly passenger rail transportation. Please don't feel pressured. I'd be perfectly happy if you get all this done in your first term, but I think the first 100 days would be a good target.

Airlines’ latest plan to increase ticket sales? Fewer seats
Donna Balancia Travel, Hospitality & Event ManagementAs the economy stays on a stable — if not flat — course, one turbulent area appears to be the air travel segment. Thanksgiving always brings additional demand, and the traditional travel season will bring a boost in ticket prices. But holiday travel revenue can't offset the issues U.S.-based airline companies are dealing with today.
