A blue 911 was the first car Sydney got to drive out on the highway. She was so young at her first Porsche Parade that she can't remember it, and she was homeschooled so she could travel to races.   Porsche. The name is known in competition, but Amelia Island wanted it to be known more for friendship. Amelia Island, Florida, held many big events last weekend, but we're focusing on two — the Werks Reunion on March 10 and the Concours d'Elegance on March 11. While the Concours is about finding the best of the best, the Werks Reunion brought people together primarily to build a story around a car based on something other than the cleanest Porsche on the block.

  Fifteen Porsches sped around Daytona International Speedway for the official preseason test just over a week ago. The "Roar Before the 24" is mandatory for all participants in the Rolex 24 at Daytona race over the Jan. 28-29 weekend. The practice runs provided an anticipatory glimpse of the newest car on the track: the Porsche 911 RSR. The car's debut is a great risk at the premier endurance race of North America, and it is also incredibly exciting. Will the 911 RSR fight its way to the top from the beginning of its career?

  Porsche driver Mark Webber has announced his retirement, and his final race will be the 2016 WEC final on Saturday in Bahrain. Webber joined Porsche's LMP1 program in 2014 and won seven WEC events with Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley. Last year, the three claimed the drivers' title and finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

With such a long event, it's important to get as much practice as possible, and teams took a preseason opportunity to get on the track to prepare for the 24-hour race. Roar is like the "dress rehearsal" before everyone arrives to put on the big show.

  The Porsche 911 is truly a car that has captivated consumers for generations. And when Porsche recently announced the newest edition of the 911, the news was received with a mix of emotions. The big news is that now every Porsche 911 will come as a turbo — even the Carrera. Carreras can now go from 0-60 mph in about 4 seconds (with the PDK option), and the Carrera S can get from 0-60 in under 4 seconds. What's the top speed? 183 mph for the Carrera, and 191 for the S.
