The upside of a downside: Collecting vintage Porsches
Pablo Deferrari Transportation Technology & AutomotiveRecently, I shared one of my favorite videos with some fellow Porsche owners. The video, called "The Great Putdown," is a short four-and-a-half-minute film shot in 8 mm by actor Peter Helm about he and two other guys having a laugh ripping up and down Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California in their vintage Ferraris during the late '60s.

How many UNESCO World Heritage Sites have you visited in the US?
Dave G. Houser Recreation & LeisurePosing a question recently to a group of well-traveled friends, I asked, "What do the Statue of Liberty, the Everglades, Taos Pueblo and Illinois' Cahokia Mounds have in common?" This was not meant as a trick question, but it seemed to stump my friends.

The new Porsche 991 may be very different from past GT3s
David Hurth Transportation Technology & AutomotiveWhen the 991 variant of the Porsche 911 GT3 was unveiled, it took purists a bit by surprise. It was a major departure from previous GT3s with its electric steering, PDK-only transmission option and rear-wheel steering. Probably the biggest concern for purists is that the company's drivers' car no longer offered the drama of changing your gears in the old-fashioned manner.
