This eclipse will occur when the moon passes in front of the sun casting a dark shadow across a 70-mile-wide path across the U.S., stretching from Oregon to South Carolina. Most everyone in the country will see at least a partial eclipse, but some parts of 14 states will experience a total eclipse with more than two minutes of darkness in the middle of the day.
