Procrastinators unite….tomorrow. Actually procrastinators, this time, it’s OK that you put it off. If you’re a dentist and ADA member, and you’d like to attend the 2018 ADA Annual Meeting in Hawaii, you still can! Well, for a very limited time.

There is still time to plan a trip to the meeting and the Hawaiian Islands. Advanced registration will be available until Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. CDT. Prices for the overall meeting and individual CE courses will be higher after that.

The meeting will be held in Honolulu from Oct. 18-22. Over the course of the week, participants will have a chance to get involved in an extensive schedule of events, exhibitors and continuing education opportunities.

The ADA continuing education team has worked hard all year to put together a diverse and extensive schedule of courses. Courses being offered include the Digital Future of Dentistry, Women in Dentistry, Campfire Sessions and the team-building track.

The Exhibit Hall at the Hawaii Convention Center is sure to be a popular spot. In keeping with this year’s theme of Regroup, Retreat, Re-energize, the ADA is inviting registrants to visit one (or more!) of the "RE" lounges to do just that: regroup, retreat and re-energize.

Fun Fact:

The narwhal is often called the unicorn of the sea, a pale-colored porpoise in the whale family found in Arctic coastal waters and rivers. It is known for possessing a large, long, straight tusk from a protruding canine tooth.

One fun course is sure to be a crowd pleaser as it will focus on the "unicorn of the sea" and what it can teach us about teeth. A presentation called "Narwhal, Arctic Legend and its Extraordinary Tusk" (5318) takes place on Oct. 18 from 7-9 a.m. at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Dr. Martin T. Nweeia, lecturer in the department of restorative dentistry and biomaterials sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and arguably the world's leading expert on narwhals, will present the continuing education course. It's worth two hours of credit and offered without a fee.

Affordable flights to ADA 2018 Honolulu are still available. For the lowest airfares, search for flights arriving in Honolulu a few days before the meeting and/or leaving a few days after the meeting, allowing for the opportunity to enjoy extra time on the island.

If you’re worried all the good hotels are already booked, don’t! The ADA has arranged reduced rates with multiple hotels on Oahu exclusively for annual meeting attendees.

Visit ADA.org/ADA18Hotelsfor a list of participating hotels and resorts. Shuttle service will run to and from the Hawaii Convention Center.
