With chestnuts roasting, twinkle lights aglow and Christmas ads aplenty, the holidays are here, and the countdown is on. If your holiday sales, conversions or campaigns aren't shining as brightly as you planned, don't fret. It's not too late to pull out all the stops and transform this holiday season.

Below are four last-minute marketing tips for the 2014 holiday season that will have a big effect, both now in and the New Year.

1. Work it on Super Saturday

While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are typically the talk of the town, the Saturday before Christmas — Dec. 20 — is forecast to do bigger sales and drive more traffic, according to ShopperTrak. Make the day count by flaunting your knowledge.

This holiday season, email marketing and in-print advertising have been converting the most sales. Blast out emails to promote deals and freebies, and convince shoppers to hit up your store on this busy day. Remember, the more synchronized the message, the bigger impact it will have.

Get your offers, language and graphics down pat, then share them across all platforms from print to social.

2. Show your fans they matter

The holidays are for showering those who matter most with appreciation — and that means your customers.

Host exclusive fan sales, such as social media markdowns or promo codes for newsletter subscribers. Be sure to make the offer last a bit longer than usual to allow fans the freedom to use when they please.

3. Curate Pinterest holiday gift guides

On Pinterest, followers are focused on shopping and scoping out gift ideas, as opposed to catching up with their friends' latest happenings. In fact, 47 percent of U.S. shoppers have made a purchase as a direct result of Pinterest.

Remember, Pinterest works like a search engine, so make it easy to find both your pins and boards. Effectively caption your pins by using industry-specific keywords, piggybacking on the most pinned words and keeping it between 100-200 characters.

Then, clump 'em. Create gift-centric boards for different demographics, such as "Last Minute Gifts for Busy Moms" or "20 Tech Gifts under $20."

4. Give back to your community

Show you care about more than your profit margin by donating and working with a nonprofit. When selecting a nonprofit partner, follow your passion and align it with your company's mission as well.

Vow to donate a portion of profits, ask customers to contribute when they check out, or, if you're a brick and mortar store, host an in-store event together. Either way, be sure your business makes a large donation in addition to other efforts. Then, share on social media and pitch the story to traditional media sources, too.

Everyone loves a feel-good holiday story that shows you care.

Implement these last-minute holiday marketing tips to end the year on a strong note. Happy holidays!
