But most factors are in their control, such as level of activity, lifestyle and eating habits. It is rare to find a disease with long-term effects in the patients' control, but Type 2 diabetic patients have this advantage. For a diabetic patient, the most important factor affecting wound healing is controlling their blood-glucose level.
