After working in diagnostic clinics at Children's Hospital in Boston, the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center, and University of Massachusetts Medical School, she worked in private practice. Lorna is past president of the New England Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), past member of IDA national board, past president of the Massachusetts Council for Learning Disabilities and chair of the New England Joint Conference on Learning Disabilities. She served on the Governor's advisory council for special education and has taught in the graduate program of Language and Literacy at Simons College.
