Jo Ann Iantosca is a full-time professor in the School of Early Childhood Education and Ph.D. candidate at Western University in the Faculty of Education's Applied Psychology Program. She holds a Master of Educational Administration, Bachelor of Education, Honours Specialization in Developmental Psychology, and Early Childhood Education Diploma. Jo Ann is a student affiliate with the Canadian Psychological Association and a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, the College of Early Childhood Educators and the Canadian Childcare Federation.

The policies, funding and legislation concerning Canadian childcare at the federal and provincial level have varied quite significantly over time, giving rise to hope for a universally accessible system just before dismissing it entirely.
