Jim Pryde
Jim Pryde served 32 years with the Olympia Police Department, retiring as the lieutenant in command of the Special Operations Bureau. Jim was chosen as the Chief of Police for Gladstone, Ore., in May 2009. He serves on the Police Administration Committee for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Monday, January 27, 2014With more than 30 years in law enforcement, I've now got plenty of experience on my side. Knowing what I know at this stage of my career, I've reflected on what I could share with those beginning a new season of service in law enforcement careers. So stand aside, David Letterman, I've created a top 10 list of things I wish somebody had told me when I graduated from my basic police academy. I truly hope these resonate for many years to come.
