The other side of emails — Should you get personal?
Thursday, November 10, 2016To say that customer service is the core value of a company is an understatement — especially in the business-to-business (B2B) world. Be fearless in the workplace by exuding confidence
Wednesday, August 17, 2016Have you seen the latest picture of Usain Bolt? It's currently trending all over the internet showing how superhuman the Olympic runner truly is. Is he superhuman because he exudes the confidence everyone desires or because he's the fastest man in the world? Obviously, the second is true, but I think in some ways the first is, too. Confidence doesn't come naturally to some of us, but it's something that can be worked on — especially in the workplace.

Take millennial retention with a grain of salt and make a margarita
Thursday, August 11, 2016As a millennial, I was recently asked why the retention rate with my generation is so low within companies. Is it because we're bored at our current positions? Are we not being paid enough? As the largest segment in the U.S. workforce (and growing), the millennial population has been taught that staying in one organization isn't a good thing — moving around every 3-5 years shows you're expanding your expertise and prospects.

Working from home is overrated, but here’s how to make it better
Friday, May 20, 2016I've come to realize there's a faux luxury about working from home. Though it may seem glamorous to some, once you do it every day — for months at a time — it can get rather daunting. It's been about six months since my job led me back to my humble abode to work until the new office is completed, so I consider myself kind of an expert. Most people are envious that I get to work out of my 1,110-square-foot condo, until I mention the flaws.

Mobile devices are great — until they cause mental health issues
Wednesday, March 02, 2016I recently downloaded a new game on my smartphone to pass the time during travel, but what I didn't know is that it would cause some significant issues. This new game, Color Switch, features a ball you have to bounce through a series of obstacles — all by tapping on the screen. How fast you tap will determine how quickly the ball moves. The catch, though, is you can only move through an obstacle when the color matches the color of the ball, which changes each time an obstacle is completed.

5 tactics for gaining new members with content marketing
Thursday, October 08, 2015These days, outbound advertisements are becoming a thing of the past. Between the DVR and e-zines, advertisements don't hold as much weight in our everyday media. Associations are recognizing the same trends happening within their industry — retention rates and new-member inquiries are decreasing — because, quite frankly, "ain't nobody got time for that."
