Herb Meyer
Herb Meyer was a high school football head coach for 45 years in California. When he retired in 2003, Herb had won more games (338) than anyone in the history of California football — a record that has since been passed. A winner of 10 California Interscholastic Federation championships, Herb is an AFC lifetime member and was the first California coach inducted into the NFHS National High School Hall of Fame (1995) and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame (1997). He also became the first athletic director in California to be inducted into the NIAAA Hall of Fame (2011).

Thursday, November 07, 2013I played college football in the mid-1950s when you had to play on both sides of the ball, and I played in a single-wing offense which was pretty physical. Back then, you couldn't use your hands to block, you had to hit people.
