Dr. Diane Carson

Diane Carson holds a Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from Texas A&M University, a Master's of Science degree in nutritional sciences from CSU Long Beach and a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics and biology from CSU Sacramento. She comes to the American Public University School of Health Sciences with 15-plus years of experience teaching various nutrition courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

  ​The American Journal of Preventive Medicine recently published a troubling article regarding the sponsorship of national health organizations by two major soda companies. According to the article, many health organizations — including ones run by the federal government — accepted sponsorship money from the Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo or both between 2011 and 2015.
