  ​As a boy, the Porsche 911 never appealed to me. I thought it looked old-fashioned and, when the 924 came out in the late 70s, my 8-year-old self thought that Porsche had finally made something modern. How tastes change — some three decades later, I was looking admiringly at 911s with their quintessential Porsche styling. That was the beginning of my quest to own a 911.
