David Escobar
David Escobar is a simulation specialist at the Women's Guild Simulation Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is also an emergency medical technician (EMT) and certified healthcare simulation operations specialist (CHSOS). David has been actively involved in 3-D printing in healthcare for the past 18 months. He has presented at several national conferences on this topic. David's experience includes converting patient DICOM data to 3-D models for presurgical planning, and using CAD for prototype designs.

But what can we expect to see in the medical simulation community? Currently, the majority of medical simulation training devices are manufactured with traditional methods that meet the general objective of training healthcare providers. Yet this current simulation equipment lacks realism, which is needed when training future and current healthcare workers.
